For architects, designers and consultants

The sound behind your design

When your project needs sound that belongs to your room, you bring in Viation. We take your drawings as the brief and your client's program as the test. The technical work happens out of your way.

What we work on

A narrow practice on purpose.

  • Liturgical sanctuaries

Where voice intelligibility and the dignity of the space cannot be in tension.

  • Luxury hospitality

Hotels, music venues, speakeasies. Rooms with a posture the audio has to match.

  • Your design firm

Brought in at schematic, drawn into the team through commissioning. A single point of accountability through closeout.

Three rooms by choice. The detail is right because the practice is narrow.

How we slot in

Early is better.

We work best when we are in the conversation while your design is still being drawn. Specifying the right loudspeaker system before your material palette is locked saves your project a lot of compromise later.

  • Consult on the spec

We come in during design, before the audio is on the punch list. We help you spec the right loudspeaker system for your room, your program and your material palette. The work is design advisory, not a drawing set.

  • Coordinate the integration

As your design develops, we coordinate placements, finishes and clearances with you and your trades. Where the loudspeakers live, how they are finished, what gets concealed and what gets sculptural.

  • Install and commission

We build the system on schedule and tune it to the room. Your client receives a finished installation. The audio belongs to the space.

What you get

Drawn, scoped, documented, finished.

  • Clean documentation

Standards-based device naming. Organized cable schedules. Accessible head-end racks. Control diagrams that still read in five years.

  • Single accountability

One firm responsible for the audio system, design through tune. No subcontractor finger-pointing.

  • Predictable scope

Budgets surveyed early, refined as the design develops, locked before install. No mid-construction add-alternates from the audio side.

  • Invisible technology

Speakers behind acoustically transparent finishes. Cable behind millwork. Control surfaces that look like part of the room. Equipment heard, never seen.

Working with us

What we ask of you

Three things, repeated on every project.

  1. Bring us in while your design is still being drawn. Earlier is better. Once your finishes are locked, the best audio choices are off the table.

  2. Treat us as part of the design conversation. We are not the AEC consultant of record. We are the audio advisor and integrator who cares about your design as much as you do.

  3. Tell us about your client. The technical decisions follow from how your room gets used. A liturgical sanctuary, a speakeasy and a hotel ballroom call for different systems, even at similar budgets.

Start a conversation
